Who we are?
The Institute for Family and Social Initiatives (IFIS) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2016 by a group of psychologists from the Republic of Moldova.
We serve as a center for continuous learning for mental health professionals in Moldova — a space where specialists find resources, training, and community in order to support families and children in vulnerable situations.
Our Mission
We believe that every person facing emotional or psychological difficulties deserves access to professional support. Emotional and behavioral issues cannot be viewed in isolation — they are deeply influenced by family and community relationships.
That’s why our mission is to provide:
- learning resources and continuous training;
- professional psychological support;
- social projects dedicated to children, parents, and communities.
What we do?
- We provide psychological counseling and psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- We organize the annual IFIS Conference — the largest national event dedicated to psychologists, psychotherapists, and professionals in the socio-educational field.
- We implement social and educational projects for children and parents affected by divorce, separation, migration, or other forms of vulnerability.
- We developed the only accredited course in Moldova for psychologists offering psychological assistance in cases of domestic violence.
- We run continuous professional training programs, including access to supervision and modern resources.
Our Values
- Professionalism – we bring validated knowledge and practical experience.
- Empathy – we center people and relationships in all our interventions.
- Collaboration – we believe in strong partnerships between school, family, community, and professionals.
- Meaningful change – every step we take must create real, lasting impact.
